Our wild rice are organic certified by TCO.
Our rice grows in northern Saskatchewan, in shallow, slow-moving rivers and lake --
usually between 1 and 4 feet of water with a soft, organic sediment.
Valued for its nutty flavor and health benefits, it remains a vital economic driver for northern
Indigenous and Métis communities.
Harvesting: we use flat-bottomed airboats equipped with large fans and collecting trays.
As the boat moves through the water, the ripe rice falls into the tray while the unripe rice is left to mature.
Lakes are generally harvested multiple times per season, usually in late August.
Some scientists advocate for wild rice as an ideal food for people with diabetes due to its low glycemic
index and high protein content.
With a high rate of adult population affected by diabetes, wild rice offers a potential dietary solution.
This natural ripening takes longer, but yields a grain unequalled by any other…longer, plumper, with a rich
taste and high nutrient content.
Canadian Wild Rice enhances meat, poultry, fish, shelfish and game.
Enjoy it in casseroles, soups, salads, breads, snacks and even desserts.
You can really go wild with our Canadian Wild Rice!
